RDB Contracting - Construction Labourer

This opportunity is located in the Black Fly building on Highbury Ave.

Wage: $17.60+ based on experience

Hours: Can start as early as 6:30. Typical shift starts at 7:30. 20-40 hours. Looking for FT but some projects stall based on other projects being complete.

We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Construction Labourer to join our team. This position involves assisting with framing, drywall installation and general construction duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with wood framing and drywall installation

• Accurately measure, mark and cut construction materials

• Safely operate basic hand and power tools

• Use impact drivers, circular saws (skill saws) and grinders

• Move, organize and prepare tools and building materials

• Maintain a clean, organized and hazard-free work area

• Follow all company health and safety procedures

• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Report hazards, damaged tools and safety concerns immediately

• Support experienced tradespeople as required

Qualifications

• Previous construction or general labour experience is an asset

• Familiarity with framing and drywall work is preferred

• Ability to read a tape measure and make accurate cuts

• Comfortable using impact drivers, circular saws, grinders and basic hand tools

• Strong understanding of safe tool operation

• Dependable, punctual and able to follow instructions

• Able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending and standing for extended periods

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Reliable transportation to job sites is an asset

Health and Safety

Safety is a major priority in this position. The successful candidate must consistently follow safe work practices, use tools properly, wear required PPE and contribute to a safe work environment. Health and safety training, WHMIS and Working at Heights certification are considered assets.
