Outdoor Cultivation Technician

Job Summary

The Outdoor Cultivation Technician, under the direction of the Cultivation Managers, will primarily be responsible for plant maintenance, sanitation, harvesting and post-harvest activities. This role will also prepare growing media, mix fertilizers, and assist in cloning procedures. The Cultivation Technician must possess the ability to work individually as well as part of a team and to prioritize and manage conflicting demands. Candidates will have opportunity to learn about all aspects of outdoor cannabis production in Ontario.

Job Duties

  • Maintain crop by planting, transplanting, irrigating, and pruning with a quality focus
  • Prepare growing media; Assist in cloning procedures  
  • Monitor the health and viability of the product; Detect, report, and control all plant health and pest problems.  
  • Complete all sanitation tasks including sweeping, mopping, cleaning lights and equipment, and disinfecting work surfaces
  • Assist in harvest activities such as harvesting, drying and bulk processing plants  
  • Assist in production activities such as trimming and packaging
  • Maintain accurate documentation for production tasks such as cleaning, watering, monitoring environmental conditions, plant inventory, and destruction
  • Comply with all hygiene and bio-security requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.  
  • Ability to work in a hot and humid environment
  • Enthusiasm for cannabis industry
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to take direction and lead a small team is an asset

Work Conditions

  • Variable hours including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 50 lbs
  • Working in an environment with continuous exposure to light, heat and humidity.
