Job Summary:

The Room Attendant is responsible for the timely and efficient turndown of hotel rooms, ensuring they meet Hard Rock’s high standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role plays a key part in delivering a legendary guest experience by supporting the Housekeeping team in maintaining the property’s operational excellence. The Room Attendant will turndown rooms with a keen attention to detail, restock rooms and carts, and ensure that guests have a comfortable and clean environment when they stay at Hard Rock Hotel London Ontario.

Hours of Work:

This is a full-time hourly position. Scheduling will include weekends and holidays, based on business needs and hotel occupancy.

Room Attendant – Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Room Turndown
  • Replenish room amenities including but not limited to towels, toilet paper, fridges, sheets, snacks and coffee.
  • Ensure that the rooms are clean and replaced with fresh linens daily.
  • Maintain clean rooms through dusting, vacuuming, and mopping floors and fixtures.
  • Handle guest requests promptly and courteously.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly.
  • Health and Safety
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures.
  • Keeps rooms and hallway areas clean, organized, and in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
  • Follows all safety and sanitation procedures including proper use of PPE and chemical handling.
  • Report any health and safety concerns to your director as required.
  • Inventory:
  • Assists with inventory counts and reports any shortages or overstock to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Ensure cleaning carts are fully stocked and maintain accurate records of cart stock.
  • Teamwork & Support:
  • Works cooperatively with Laundry and uniformed services to ensure timely linen delivery and pickup.
  • Assists with special cleaning projects or guest laundry services as needed.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to uniform standards.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience is an asset, but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment.
  • Time management and task prioritization.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Certifications & Requirements:

  • No specific certifications required.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

Physical Requirement:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and push/pull laundry carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stretching, standing for prolonged periods, and repetitive arm/hand movements.
  • Must be able to work with common cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to visually inspect areas and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to tolerate heat and humidity from industrial laundry equipment.
