Purpose of Job:
The Cook is responsible for preparing meals and assisting various departments in completing their assigned tasks. He/she is expected to prepare and cook food as ordered.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (i.e. chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Cook food using various kitchen utensils and appliances
• Ensure food is good quality and dishes are presented nicely
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Ensure food is stored according to safe food handling procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Education:
• Experience as cook is considered an asset
• High level of detail accuracy, manual dexterity, and hand-eye co-ordination
• Ability to work as a team/independent
• Ability to work in a safe and orderly manner
Ability to Commute/Relocate:
• Mount Elgin, ON N0J 1N0: Commute/relocate before starting work (required)
