A leading cultural hub, the Grand is proudly located in the heart of downtown London, Ontario. A not-for-profit regional theatre, the Grand produces and presents professional theatre on two stages: the Spriet Stage (~800 seats) and the Auburn Stage (~150 seats).

A typical season at the Grand runs September to May including an annual fall High School Project musical and five Jeans ‘n Classics concerts. In additional to its own produced season, the Grand rents out its theatre spaces to promoters, producers, and members of the general public for special events, shows and productions.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Grand Theatre currently has an exciting opportunity in our Development Department for an aspiring, dynamic, go-getting fundraising and development professional. The DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR will work closely with both the Director of Business Relationships & Events, and the Director of Development, to achieve the annual revenue goals & grow the number of individual donors for the theatre.

This role is the primary support to our Directors of Development, activating on strategy and fulfilling tasks and responsibilities as delegated, but with primary responsibility over the day-to-day operations of the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure accurate database management, gift processing and recognition, development and fulfillment of donor benefits, donor correspondence & acknowledgements, house program listings and mailings, booking and tracking of tickets for donors & sponsors
Work with the Directors in supporting fundraising goals of the department including but not limited to the execution of rental, corporate and fundraising events, including annual Gala;
Coordinate, make supplier arrangements, setup & teardown of events
Some minor graphic design of invitations & signage for development events
Coordinate donor cultivation and stewardship events to ensure an exceptional donor experience.
In collaboration with the Director of Development, assist the development and implementation of our fundraising plan, activate strategies for solicitation that will grow annual revenue from individuals: manage all appeal campaigns, manage and monitor online giving initiatives, work collaboratively with other program areas to advance fundraising goals; meet with donors as determined by the Director of Development;
Work with the Directors to provide support to the Board of Directors and the Fund Raising Committee on fundraising initiatives;
Support the individual & major giving efforts of the Director Development, Director of Business Relationships & Events, Artistic Director and Executive Director and members of the Board of Directors.
Work with the Director of Development in supporting coordination with communications team to develop strategies for development presence in all communications and marketing, and oversee the development presence on the website;
Gather statistics & prepare regular reports on all campaign activities;
Monitor revenue and expenses related to individual giving and support the Directors in all areas of development reporting.
Assume other tasks and responsibilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
A combination of education & work experience will be considered that may include:
Formal training in fund development
Minimum of 1-2 years of fund development or patron services experience
Passion & enthusiasm for professional theatre or performing arts
Additional experience in special event coordination, an asset
Demonstrated knowledge Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM databases (Tessitura preferred)
Experience in working with WordFly e-communication software or another equivalent
Professional writing & communication skills, required

You use data to drive decisions and strategy.
You understand the value of donor stewardship and put this into practice in your day to day work.
You have outstanding interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and you work well with all levels of staff, as well as with external clients and vendors.
You have excellent verbal communication skills and are confident when presenting or speaking to large or small groups.
You are also proficient in written communication skills and can demonstrate your experience in writing effective direct mail appeals, e-appeals, etc.
You have experience with budgeting, planning and project administration.
You can handle diverse and simultaneous tasks; you meet deadlines and attend to follow- through and are always accountable for your work.
You have experience in planning special events and working with volunteer committees.
You are able to work on a flexible schedule as occasional evenings and weekend work is part of the job responsibilities.

POSITION DETAILS
This is a full-time, ongoing position
Annual salary range between $33-43,000 per year, commensurate to experience
Our work environment is largely in-person at 471 Richmond St, London, ON, though some business travel is expected;
Work hours are a combination of weekday, evenings and weekends, revolving around our development activity schedule;
The role serves patrons in a variety of settings including: through in-person interactions in our lobbies, answering inbound telephone calls, written correspondence, through placing outbound phone calls, and offsite at activations and events;
New hires are subject to the following conditions of employment:
Must be able to legally work in Canada;
All staff are required to be fully vaccinated (2 doses) against COVID-19 prior to the start of employment and are required to provide the Grand Theatre with proof of vaccination;
Must provide a recent and clear police information check
