Retail Sales/ Cashier Associate Job Description

Job Overview The Sales/Cashier Associate is responsible for providing world-class customer service and sales floor related duties while ensuring a Healthy and Safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Contributing to the success of the donated goods retail business, the Sales Associate helps Goodwill create jobs and opportunities for meaningful work within their community.
• Supporting the environment through reuse and recycling of donated goods.

The ICARE Customer Care Cycle is Goodwill’s model and guideline for team members in order to achieve excellent customer service. The Sales/Cashier Associate will be scheduled to work a variety of shifts which will include evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities
• Perform all duties within the framework of the Guiding Principles, River system business model and Standard Operating procedures.
• Follows the Customer Care Cycle (I Care) consistently providing world class customer service to all customers, internal and external, of Goodwill.
• Be actively involved in ensuring the health, well-being and safety of themselves and their team.
• Maintain a neat, clean, organized and safe facility.
• Perform cashier duties as required.
• Ensure the sales floor is full with fresh inventory by performing stock rotation on a daily basis.
• Conduct work activities safely and in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and Goodwill, Ontario Great Lakes Health and Safety policies, procedures and program.
• Ensure a constant flow of processed goods onto the sales floor. Place merchandise in the correct location according to department, category and sales floor layout. Ensure merchandise presentation is visually appealing, easy to shop, neat and tidy.
• Provide customer service at all customer touch points throughout the location.
• Provide customer service at the change rooms. Maintain change rooms in a neat and tidy condition.
• Maintain security related to loss prevention by providing world class customer service and observational awareness of surroundings, reporting suspicious behaviours to your supervisor and team members.
• Perform other related activities as necessary or as assigned.
